Who We Are
AFRPA Strategic Plan - The Air Force Real Property Agency (AFRPA) will lead the transformation in acquiring, managing, and disposing of property in support of Airmen and the Air Force mission.
Enhanced Use Leases are opportunities for the Air Force to partner with private industry by leasing non-excess assets. These assets can bring numerous opportunities for improvements such as: office space, flight line and hangar facilities, warehouses and industrial buildings, laboratories, and research and development facilities, energy co-generation plants, hotels and temporary lodging, conference centers, and hospitals and medical facilities just to name a few! Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) is the congressionally authorized process the Department of Defense (DoD) has used to reorganize its installation structure to more efficiently and effectively support our forces, increase operational readiness, and facilitate new ways of doing business. Two pieces of legislation drive this process: Defense Authorization Amendments and Base Closure and Realignment Act.
AFRPA is tasked with planning, initiating, and implementing guidelines for the acquisition, management, and disposal of real property at active Air Force bases worldwide. The Agency oversees, develops, and evaluates complex real estate actions and issues faced by the Air Force. AFRPA also ensures all real estate actions are in compliance of policies, directives, and controls, and prepares information and justification for the Air Force's real estate actions for Congress, Armed Services Committees, Department of Defense, and Air Force leadership.
