Air Force Real Property Agency
Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Earth Day
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the Air Force Real Property Agency has enlisted the participation of 40 former and active Air Force bases planting trees across the USA . "The trees symbolize the Air Force Real Property Agency's commitment to environmental restoration," according to Agency Director Robert Moore. The agency has invested many millions of dollars in environmental protection and remediation at Air Force Bases across the country.
More than 76,000 acres of surplus Air Force property have been conveyed to benefit the public, optimizing assets such as runways and other infrastructure to strengthen local economies with jobs and commerce. By 2013, the agency will convey another 10,000-plus acres into public ownership.
